UZ is developing export routes to Moldova and Romania
JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” is working on improving cargo transportation to Moldova and Romania.
UZ is developing new transport opportunities together with Moldovan and Romanian partners. First of all, railway workers are working on improving transportation from the Reni station in the direction of Giurgiulesti and Galata. The head of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Evgeny Lyashchenko told about this in an interview with “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“On the agenda is the introduction of simplified control, so that goods pass it at the entrance and do not pass a second time at the exit. We are at the final stage of solving this issue,” said Lyashchenko.
It was important for UZ to resolve issues regarding the port of Galata and the railway infrastructure. In particular, it is about the transfer of wagons from a wide to a narrow gauge. Last week, the tripartite working group started its work in Galata. Based on the conclusions of the tripartite group, experts develop recommendations for improving exports.
Also, during the event of the Ukrainian-Romanian-Moldovan group, the issues of exchange of electronic documents, joint control and liberalization of transit tariffs for the transportation of Ukrainian products were discussed. These are discount models, in particular for grain.
“In order to increase the economic attractiveness for our exporters, additional discounts are needed, as our Moldovan partners have already done. We understand: if we consider the export routes through Poland to Gdansk and Gdynia, this is one price. And it is necessary to make the routes to Galata and Konstanz even more competitive. Especially taking into account the issue of quotas in the port of Constanta,” Lyashchenko emphasized.
