UZ opens a new transportation service to the Polish port of Gdansk


“Ukrzaliznytsia” launches container transportation service to the port of Gdansk. Trains will depart from Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Vinnytsia.

UZ launches a new service in the direction of the Polish port of Gdansk. The routes will pass through the border crossings of Yagodyn, Izov, Mostyska and Chop.

Thus, they plan to connect Jagodin with the Baltic-Adriatic and North Sea-Baltic railway networks, the Mostysk crossing with the Baltic-Adriatic and Rhine-Danube trunk railway networks, Chop with the main Rhine-Danube and Mediterranean railway network, the website says UZ

The operator of rail container transportation will be a branch of the “Lisky” transport service center.

“We continue the integration of Ukrainian railways into the European network. Container route trains will improve sea and inland connections and intermodal logistics chains between Ukraine and EU countries,” said Yevhen Lyashchenko, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia.
