Almost 50% of agricultural companies may lose the status of critical enterprises

The number of agricultural companies that have the status of critical enterprises may decrease by 44% due to the latest innovations.

This is about increasing the requirements for determining critical enterprises in the agricultural sector, Latifundist reports, citing the results of a study by the market analysis service based on data from public registers VKURSI Market BI.

Analysts estimated the number of companies that potentially meet two updated criteria: the presence of a land bank of at least 1 thousand hectares and annual income of UAH 40 million. Previously, 5,102 agricultural companies potentially met the requirements, but after increasing the threshold values, the number of such companies decreased to 2,867.

Thus, 2,235 agricultural companies, or almost 44% of those that potentially met the old criteria, risk losing the opportunity to obtain the status of critical enterprises based on these two indicators alone.

According to the study, 4,305 companies have a land bank of over 1 thousand hectares. The largest number of such enterprises is registered in the Odessa region (371).

7,375 companies have land plots with an area of over 500 hectares (prerequisites for determining criticality).

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine has updated the criticality criteria for agricultural enterprises.
