ARMA failed to sell Russian oligarch’s seized ore for the second time

Auctions for the sale of seized iron ore briquettes stored in the port of Pivdennyi have again failed.

This was reported by the state online auction system Prozorro.Sale

Both batches of seized ore were put up for sale at a price half as cheap as the first time. The first batch of iron ore briquettes weighing 41,989.0 tons, which was put up at the first auction with a starting price of UAH 414 million, has now fallen in price to UAH 207 million.

The second batch of briquettes weighing 8,159.716 tons, which was initially estimated at UAH 80 million, is now being offered for UAH 40,264.8 million at the start.

The minutes state that the auction did not take place due to the lack of participants.

Recall that we are talking about iron ore briquettes produced by the Lebedynsky Mining and Processing Plant, which belongs to the Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov. Before the arrest, the property was delivered to the port of Pivdennyi under the customs regime of “transit” for the accumulation of a ship’s consignment for further transportation to China.

As previously reported by USM, in February 2023, 166 thousand tons of iron ore with an estimated value of ₴1.8 billion, previously arrested in several seaports of Ukraine, were transferred to the ARMA administration.
