Estonian President: EU should consider trade embargo on Russia


Estonian President Alar Karis said that the European Union should seriously consider the possibility of introducing a full trade embargo on Russia.

The Estonian head of state stressed the need to completely stop the import of Russian goods at the EU level. President Alar Karis wrote about this on the social network X.

“The European Union must further strengthen its independence and stop the import of Russian energy to the EU. We should even seriously consider a full trade embargo on Russia,” the post says.

USM also previously reported that Estonia’s assistance to Ukraine’s maritime industry includes 600 million euros and support for Grain from Ukraine.
