Thus, the construction of the 1st stage of a new grain terminal is nearing completion in the port. It is planned to launch it in early 2022, after which the construction of the second stage will start. Now a project feasibility study (PFS) is being developed. After the design of the second stage, the port will look for an investor to implement the construction.

In addition, the construction of a container terminal is planned in the port of Mariupol. The approximate cost of the project is $60 million. Upon completion of the construction, the annual capacity of the terminal will be 221.1 thousand TEU. But for now, the port is looking for an investor to start the project.

All these works are carried out by SE “MCSP” in accordance with the Plan of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” for the development of the port of Mariupol. According to the document, within five years (the document was approved in 2018), the port plans to increase the number of jobs and cargo handling capacity by 2.5 million tons per year, as well as containers – by 100 thousand TEU per year.
