Over 9,000 vessels passed through the Ukrainian maritime corridor in 2024

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ensured the passage of more than 9 thousand vessels through the maritime corridor in 2024.

In 2024, 9061 vessels passed through the Ukrainian maritime corridor. Of these, 4651 vessels arrived in Ukrainian ports, and 4410 departed for ports of other countries, the press service of the Ukrainian Navy reported.

This activity allowed Ukraine to export more than 74.4 million tons of cargo, a significant part of which was agricultural products. Such a volume of exports is critically important for supporting the country’s economy and ensuring global food security, given that almost 80% of cargo is transported by sea.

The safety of navigation was ensured by ship crews and Navy divers, who destroyed a significant number of drifting mines and prevented a single case of vessel detonation in ports. In addition, the Naval Forces constantly escorted cargo vessels.

Recently, USM wrote that the Ukrainian Navy destroyed 458 invader vessels last year.
