Polish farmers announced a large-scale protest against agricultural imports from Ukraine
The Polish party “Law and Justice” is planning a large-scale protest in Warsaw to “support its farmers”.
“We have planned a big march in Warsaw on May 18,” party leader Yaroslav Kaczynski announced.
According to Kaczynski, with this action they want to force the Polish Sejm to adopt a resolution on the Green Course and an embargo on Ukrainian grain.
He noted that the demonstration will take place even if the Green Course is canceled by that day and the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products is introduced.
Also on Sunday, March 10, Polish protesting farmers unblocked the Krakiwiec-Korchowa checkpoint. However, as the spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, said, this is temporary — “because they have indicated that they will resume their actions approximately on the 13th.”
According to him, five checkpoints remain blocked. About 1,700 trucks remain in the queues.
Previously, USM reported that Poland will officially call on the European Commission to completely block the import of agricultural products from Russia and Belarus.
