Ukraine is ready to export millions of tons of wheat to Africa and Asia


This year, a good grain harvest is predicted in Ukraine. Millions of tons of wheat from which are ready to be sent to the countries of Africa and Asia in order to stabilize the food market.

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Denys Bashlyk.

According to him, world prices for grain crops increase after every attack on the Black Sea and Danube ports.

“Constant Russian attacks on port infrastructure in Odesa and other Ukrainian ports have a direct impact on social and political stability, world food prices, which directly affects food security,” the official emphasized.

He also emphasized that, first of all, the countries of Africa and Asia suffer, whose inhabitants may find themselves on the verge of survival if Ukraine cannot export enough grain.

The deputy minister noted that Ukraine will harvest a good grain crop this year and is ready to send millions of tons of wheat to countries in Africa and Asia.

As of September 22, 2023, Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 29.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops and 7.649 million tons of oil crops. According to UGA (Ukrainian Grain Association) forecasts, 80.5 million tons of grain and oilseeds will be harvested in Ukraine this year.
