Ukraine presents the Alligator-9 naval drone with laser weapons (video)

The new drone can attack ships, disable air defenses and shoot down missiles – all using a modular weapons system.

The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine have released a video with the latest naval drone called “Alligator-9”. This is reported by “Militarnyi”.

This is a multifunctional platform that can carry different types of weapons depending on the combat mission – from a laser complex to kamikaze drones.

One of the key modules for the “Alligator-9” is the “Trident 90” laser system, capable of hitting air targets – from attack drones to missiles and helicopters – at a distance of up to 5 km. In blinding mode, the complex can operate even at a distance of up to 10 km.

Another configuration option involves using the drone as a carrier of 6 to 10 smaller torpedo drones of the Alligator 5 ToD type, which perform the functions of FPV drones or sea “kamikazes”. Such a set provides effective combat against small surface targets of the enemy.

A separate configuration is provided for electronic warfare. In this case, the drone carries from 3 to 5 specialized Alligator 5 EW devices, which provide breakthrough of enemy electronic warfare systems, reconnaissance, mine clearance and navigation cover.

As noted in the Unmanned Systems Forces, the appearance of the Alligator-9 indicates a new level of development of sea drones in Ukraine. We are talking not only about disposable strike platforms, but also about a multi-level application system – with lasers, torpedoes and carriers of FPV drones.

Such systems have already proven their effectiveness during attacks on Russian air defense systems and radars in Crimea.

Reference: “Tryzub 90” is a Ukrainian laser combat complex capable of destroying strike drones, aerial bombs, cruise and ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 3 km, as well as helicopters, airplanes and reconnaissance UAVs – up to 5 km. In blinding mode, the system can operate at a distance of up to 10 km. Guidance is carried out manually using an optoelectronic station.

Recall that earlier it became known about another Ukrainian development – the naval strike drone “Katran” from the Military Armored Company HUB. This device is equipped with torpedoes, machine guns and Piorun anti-aircraft missiles.
