Grain shipments by rail to Romania and Poland suspended due to Bureau of Economic Security investigative actions
The transfer of grain by rail at crossings with Romania and Poland was suspended due to the investigative actions of the Bureau of Economic Security.
The information was provided by Valeriy Tkachev, deputy director of the department of transportation technology and commercial work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, reports Rail.insider.
According to Tkachev, four loaded trains have been detained at border crossings so far.
According to the results of December, the decrease in the volume of grain transfer through Ukrainian-Romanian junctions amounted to 6.2 wagons per day (or 55%). The transfer rate was 5.1 units per day.
On average, 37.8 wagons with grain are moving to Poland per day — eight units less than in November.
Slovakia and Hungary also demonstrated a reduction in the volume of reception. In December, 31.6 wagons per day were sent through Ukrainian-Slovak crossings — 6.4 units (or 16.8%) less than in November. And the volume of grain transfers to Hungary decreased by 14.2 wagons (or 25.2%) per day. 42.1 units per day were sent through the junctions.
The total average daily rate of grain and meal transfers in December was 194 wagons — 34 units per day less than in November.
Earlier, USM reported that Ukrzaliznytsia delivered 18 thousand wagons of grain at a reduced rate.
