In Batumi, they are again protesting against the Russian cruise liner

Today, July 31, a protest will take place again in the Georgian port of Batumi due to the arrival of the Russian cruise liner Astoria Grande from Sochi.

Thus, a member of the youth wing of the opposition party “United National Movement” is planning to protest against the Russians, SOVA writes. According to one of the representatives of the movement, Georgy Dumbadze, the form of the protest “will be decisive.”

“The position of Georgians will be recorded to remind everyone that Batumi, Georgia belongs to Georgians. It is important to understand that Russians are a nation of ruthless murderers. A propagandist, disguised as a tourist, enters and later makes statements that Abkhazia has been saved from us. We are against the occupation,” the oppositionist said.

The Astoria Grande cruise ship will arrive in Batumi from Sochi already today, July 31. On board the liner are supporters of President Putin and “stars” who support Russia’s war against Ukraine.

We will remind, on July 27, the Astoria Grande cruise ship already entered the Batumi port. There were more than 800 people on board the ship, most of whom were citizens of the Russian Federation. The arrival of the ship in Georgia caused outrage in the opposition and many citizens. There was an action in Batumi against the arrival of the liner, and it left the Batumi port on the evening of July 27.

USM previously reported that a few months ago, the Georgian government denied the news about Russian cruises passing through the port of Batumi.
