MIU intends to extend the private traction project til 2023

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine intends to extend the pilot project on the admission of private locomotives to work on the railway until 2023.

This was announced by the Director General of the Railway Transport Directorate of the MIU, Olexandr Fedorenko, writes URM.

Fedorenko claims that the MIU has already prepared the necessary orders for the admission of private traction til 2023. He believes that there are nuances in the pilot project that need to be worked on. Among them is a collection of tariffs.

In March, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced its intention to extend the pilot project on the admission of private locomotives to work on the Ukrainian railways. The European Business Association had previously requested a two-year extension of the pilot project.
