Romania has become the main railway route for Ukrainian grain


In August, Romania took first place in terms of the volume of Ukrainian grain received by rail – an average of 44.7 wagons are transferred through border crossings per day.

This was reported by RAIL.insider following an online meeting of representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants.

Compared to July, the volume of grain cargo transferred to Romania increased by 42.8 wagons per day.

An average of 44.4 wagons of grain are now transferred through crossings with Poland per day. This is 30.8 wagons more than in July.

26.9 wagons are sent to Slovakia per day, which is 10 wagons more than in the previous month.

Hungary, which has long been the leader in this indicator, dropped to last place in August – to 23.6 wagons per day.

Earlier, USM reported that the government has expanded financial support for farmers due to the blockade of ports.
