Russia once again attacked Danube ports: infrastructure and railway approaches damaged

As a result of the night drone attack, port and transport infrastructure facilities on the Danube were damaged, fires and destruction were recorded.
On the night of April 17, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region, in particular on the infrastructure of the Danube ports. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Administration, Oleh Kiper.
Port, transport and residential infrastructure facilities were hit. Fires broke out in several locations, in particular on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve, which were promptly extinguished by rescuers.
According to the USPA, the shelling directly affected one of the ports on the Danube. Administrative, industrial and utility buildings were damaged, as well as certain sections of the railway infrastructure that ensures the transportation of goods to the berths.

In addition, damage was recorded to port equipment and containers. At the same time, at least six private residential buildings were hit in the region.
Despite the scale of the attack, there were no victims or injuries. Emergency services are currently working on the scene, the liquidation of the consequences and the assessment of the damage are ongoing.
The USPA emphasizes that despite the next shelling, the Danube ports continue to operate as usual, taking into account security restrictions, maintaining the functioning of one of the key export routes of Ukraine.

As USM wrote, the day before in the port of Odesa region, an enemy UAV hit a civilian vessel.
