Prices for Ukrainian wheat are falling: new players are on the market

Prices for Ukrainian wheat continue to decline. A new factor was the information about the quota for the export of these grains to the Russian Federation.
Prices for Ukrainian wheat fell amid news of the spread of a new strain of coronavirus.
Wheat prices in deep-sea ports of Ukraine increased by UAH 450-500 (USD 16.49-18.32) per ton.
Wheat prices on FOB basis in shallow-water ports of Ukraine increased. It is also reported that the cost of purchases on the CPT-port basis has increased.
During the week of October 29th – November 5th, prices for steel billets in the Black Sea ports decreased by $25 – to $630-640/ton.
Wheat, corn and barley increased in price in Ukrainian ports after the weekend. But the cost of oilseeds has decreased.
Barley continues to rise in price: now its cost is USD 282.43/ton in the Mykolaiv port and USD 279.08/ton in the ports of Odesa.
The limited supply and high prices for wheat from the Russian Federation alienate importers. Ukrainian wheat is becoming more affordable for them and, at the same time, a high-quality alternative.
Over the past week, billets prices in Black Sea ports have rose for 2% after dropping a week earlier.
