The Security Service of Ukraine has identified two more persons involved in the corruption scheme in the field of certification of seafarers.

The Head of the Maritime Administration Vitaly Kindrativ signed an order on the procedure for automatic confirmation of the seafarer’s employment term.

The Kyiv Shevchenko District Court has seized the work of several websites, including the illegal “clone” of the seafarer’s account, which was created on August 10th.

The Maritime Administration prohibited Seaport Captains from accepting the State Qualifying Commission protocols, which were formed after July 16th.

Yet another Ukrainian crew, which is preparing for service on an Island-class patrol boat, arrived in the United States for training in the management and operation of the vessel.

Over the past two weeks, the Seafarer’s account has been “resurrected” twice. But eventually, it is still unclear whether the State Register of Seafarers of Ukraine has really fully resumed its functions, or whether this is the renewal of a fraudulent scheme that was previously eliminated by the SBU.

The international forum “Education, training and employment of seafarers” has started in Odesa today, which will last until September 2nd.

Approved training centers can now independently assign registration numbers to certificates in the established format. The only requirement is to notify the Maritime Administration and the Seafarer Training and Certification Inspectorate by e-mail.

Three crew members of the GLOBAL LAKE tanker were killed in an accident in the cargo tank of the vessel. Two seafarers were Turkish citizens, one was Georgian.
