Drones hit Russia’s largest oil terminal in the Baltic

The fire engulfed the tanks of the terminal in the port of Ugulinskaya Harbor, 17 km from the Expoforum, where the St. Petersburg Economic Forum will be held.
On the night of June 3, drones attacked the St. Petersburg oil terminal, Russia’s largest oil transshipment complex in the Baltic. The Moscow Times reports.
The terminal is located in the Kirovskyi district of St. Petersburg, has a throughput of 12.5 million tons per year and includes 21 tanks for storing petroleum products.
The explosions began at around 4:00 a.m. — dozens of videos of a large-scale fire appeared on social networks. St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov confirmed the attack and announced the shooting down of three UAVs over the city. Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko announced the shooting down of 50 drones over the region, but did not comment on the fire in the port.
More than 20 flights at Pulkovo airport were delayed or canceled in the wake of the attack.
The attack occurred on the first day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which runs from June 3 to 6, with Putin scheduled to speak at the event on June 5.
The Baltic oil port of Primorsk was previously hit. After the March attacks, it lost at least 40% of its tank capacity.
